UK Fall Intakes: UK Universities typically follow two types of intakes:

  • Intakes in January and February 
  • Intakes in September and October 
  • Additional intakes in April and May for selected courses 

Students in the United Kingdom who do not apply for admission in September are eligible for the January intakes. Some might suggest that, in terms of the total number of programs available, September admissions in the UK may be higher than January’s. However, since both begin in January with the same number of successful courses from which students can choose, there is not much room for comparison. You can also apply to a second intake in the UK, known as the May admissions.

The January /February intake in the UK is an additional intake in terms of admission cycles. Although there are fewer classes offered at the beginning of the January Intake cycle than there are at the beginning of the September admission cycle, this admission period offers candidates who have missed the main UK admission cycles an incentive to apply. It gives students more time to concentrate on their assignments. The submission deadline will vary from course to course and institution to institution and will fall between June and September.
